Sara Oehler (pronounced Ay-ler) is a well-known designer in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Sara co-authored the book Show Your Colors, published by Kalmbach in January 2012 and Seed Bead Revolution, published August 2017. She has designed and written for numerous American publications including: BeadStyle, Bead&Button, Bead Trends, Stringing, Beadwork and Step-by-Step Wire Jewelry as well as international beading publications in the United Kingdom and Australia. Her designs have been featured on the cover of two magazines: 2011 September issue of BeadStyle and 2012 June issue of Bead&Button.
Sara loves to connect through video. She has been a guest on Jewel School on JTV numerous times and most recently taped segments for Beads, Baubles and Jewels to air on PBS in the Spring of 2019. As “Ask Sara” of Soft Flex® Company, she has had her work featured in several advertisements, signs, fliers, postcards, and more. Sara has attended, showed her designs, demonstrated and taught within the Soft Flex® Company booth at hundreds of bead shows in her long career with them. She was hired in 1999. She loves to share her passion for beading through teaching others how to create their own wearable art with quality materials!
Sara is an Arizona State University Sun Devil with an undergraduate degree in Organizational Leadership. She is also a mom and wife. She loves to cook, garden, practice yoga, take long walks and spend time with her family when she is not working.
